I’ve been dreaming about making this piece for a long time and I can’t believe it’s finally real.
Buttery gold or golden butter? In this case, golden butter. The epitome of beauteous form following delicious function. Inspired by the meta beauty of materials/ingredients of their own merit.
Foodies often marvel at the expertise of simplicity. Cultured butter (especially salted) is one such category. Growing up in the U.S., I used to think of butter as that oily grossness that was a necessary ingredient in baking but disgusting on its own. Blasphemically, I thought it was interchangeable with margarine or I can’t believe it’s not butter (we can). Packets in the diner next to the Smuckers. Until I realized that butter could taste like cheese (and also that cheese isn’t Kraft singles or Kraft Dinner or shredded Mozzarella or green can parmesan, but I digress). Condiment butter, as Condiment Claire would call it.
After a few years of really honing in on my favorite butters fueled by the butter enthusiasm of TikTok creators like Condiment Claire and Tess Madalyn the final form of this slab chunk hunk was finally molded and formed. Satisfyingly imperfect with the recognizable soft ridges of certain French butters.
Produced in 20K gold, a reference to luxurious high fat European butters. Please contact for custom requests if you would like it in another karat or alloy.
